Not sure what you are trying to do. Are you trying to drive the dimensions of the parts in the assembly design table? If so I may be able to help you out. BBJT CSWP

Hi Packmen,
There is a execel spredsheet already created to handle this functionality. I will dig it up out of my archives and post it. BBJT CSWP

Hi Packmen,
I found the spredsheet. The problem is I am new to this site and do not know how to post or attach a file. I did however have a note in the file where I found it. Go out on SolidWorks website to their model library. Under API Modeling Utilities it's called

Excel To SolidWorks Link Template - Allow users to easily link cells in Excel to dimensions in SolidWorks.

If you do not have access to model library let me know and I will figure out a wat to get it to you.

I have used this utillity in the passed and it works pretty slick.

Packmen,

Are you tring to drive a part dimension at the assembly stage?

SW doesn't let users control part dimensions at the assembly stage in a design table. That could cause problems down the line. That's why I make configurations of my parts. Then in the DT of the assembly can you control the part, but only by configurtaion name.

Hope I'm understanding you correctly, or I hope this helps, Scott Baugh, CSWP :)

Hello Packmen,
Just wondering if you had a chance to download the excel spreadsheet that I mentioned in my previous reply? I think it will address your the task that you are trying to accomplish. BBJT CSWP
