I need some advise with a calculation.
I have 2 round components fixed with a threaded bush.
I want to find a good width for the H dimension.
Do you think Checking the stresses as S = F / (π*D*H) can give a good results or do you have some better calculation method?
Thank you

The same applies to a situation like this:

wouldn't the area reacting F be pi*(D^2-d^2)/4 ?
assuming the point to this spacer is to prevent the threaded bush bottoming out.

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?

Shear area pi*D*H?

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand
