We are in the process of designing an outlet pipe specifications for a PSV with hazardous Hydrocarbon service.

Should an unforeseen fire situation in the PSV outlet pipe have an impact on calculation of outlet pipe size??

Normally, what I believe that the flow rate, pressure and temperature in the outlet pipe of PSV should be considered crietria for deciding the specifications.

Any further opinions?

Use the scenario that causes the PSV lifting pressure and its corresponding temperature. If that is the fire scenario, use that temperature. If its a maximum pressure experienced during some upset operating condition, use the corresponding temperature for that case.

Pay attention to the 10% rule, also, if this is a conventional valve, for sizing the discharge piping.
