Compress has the option to design an ellipsoidal head to Code Case 2695 (ASME VIII-2 rules). When this option is selected the nozzles attached to the head are also designed to Code Case 2695 (ASME VIII-2 rules).
Is there a way to have the head designed to VIII-1 rules and only an attached nozzle designed to Code Case 2695 (ASME VIII-2 rules)? Or is Compress planning on including this option?
This is possible for nozzles in cylinders as compress has an option to use the alternative nozzle design rules in VIII-1 Appendix 1.10 (these rules are almost identical to VIII-2 nozzle design rules). However there is no such option for nozzles in heads and there is no requirement in code case 2695 that the head and nozzle need to both be designed to Code case 2695.
I want to use VIII-2 as little as possible so the AI or inexperienced fabricators don't freak out when they see unfamiliar VIII-2 design and fabrication requirements. At the moment I have to spend allot of time creating a VIII-1 report and a VIII-2 design report and then cut and copy and merge and delete pdf pages to get the report right. A real pain.
