I want to design a cooling tunnel using axial fans to cool product from 80C to about 45C. the conveyor length dimensions are 1m wide 33 M long and a tunnel height of 300mm. I intend to use axial fans to blow in or out atmospheric air at 25C to the tunnel.
I am feeding the tunnel with 12 cans per tray of 1 kg each at a speed of 8 trays per minute.
What should be the speed of the chain drive, size of the axial fans and number of the fans. should i blow in air or blow out the air?

You should hire an Engineer familiar with this.

You should also read forum policies which begin as follows:

I agree with willard3. We can't do your design calculations for you, that is well beyond the scope of a tips forum. Calculating the required speed of a belt from the information you have given can't be done. Neither can the required airflow or fan configuration be calculated.

If you are bound and determined to design this yourself, ponder these items that you did not list:

Dimensions of cans
Spacing betwen cans
Source of the heat that you want to remove
Heat energy per unit of time that is being added to air in your tunnel
Contaminants / corrosives that might be in the tunnel's air
Other factors specific to your situation that I can't guess from here.

Best to you,

Goober Dave
