Hey everyone! I am new to the forum and very new to engineering. I just graduated and have been given what seems like a difficult task. I am having a difficult time with the procedure and concept of the whole thing. It is basically a spread footing (~10'lx4'wx2't) supporting one rectangular pedestal (8'X2'X3') that is recieving the two reactions from the bridge span. It will be below grade around 3ft.
Could someone recommend a procedure that would help me get started? I have all important soils info. Now the task is confirming geometry and assigning reinforcement.
Thanks alot.
