I am dealing with a mixture of toulene(70%)+ wood rosin(20%)+ Turps (10%). Need to design a multi stage flash vessel to separate out toulene with other two components.
Flow rate: 2500 kg/hr, feed temp 150 deg C at atmospheric temp.
Toulene, B.P = 111 degC
Rosin, B.P = about 300 degC
Turpentine, B.P = 130-170 degC
At the moment, I am looking for multi stage flash vessels due to capital constraints. What % separation can be achieved? all suggestions are welcome.

It looks like you simply need a distillation operation..sorry for the bad news, but a simple flash vessle won't do the job..A multi stage flash vessel IS a distillation operation...

If you need all 3 components on spec, maybe you can consider a devided wall column...just an idea..

Maybe you can apply other separation technologies like crystalization or Extraction, I don't know..

You can achieve whatever separation you want. You give a boiling delta of at least nineteen degrees (assuming that is where you want your split). You can separate these components with a distillation tower. It is probably a fairly large tower stage wise but can be done. You should find out what the specifications for top and bottom product are first.
