My question is, I want to know how and what all do we take in consideration in designing of internal coils (helical) for maintaining the temperature of chemical inside the reactor at 120 degree C. The reaction is exothermic (Phenol Formaldehyde Resin).
The cooling media is water from cooling tower at temp of 33 Degree and preassure at source is 2kg/cm2. the vessel is a 10000 liters reactor with external jacket for initial heating of the reactor. the reactor has turbine type agitator working at 70 RPM. The Dia of the Reactor is 2200 and the Shell Height is 2500mm.
How can the no. of turns in coil, the O.D or the surface area required, and the booster pump specification if required be calculated and worked out?
