Design of saddle

Hi Guys

I need to verify two saddle according to ASME Sec III NF. The idea is verify the saddle by fea (Design by analysis) (I already have a fea model of the pressure vessel with its supports) and on the other hand, verify the supports with design by rule according to ASME Sec III.

The saddle supports are class 1.

Any idea?

You're trying to verify an FEA analysis without knowing how to do it by hand first?

If both methods used follow the design process (prepare, check, independent verification)of the applicable QA Program and both provide acceptable results for compliance with ASME criteria (Design by Analysis using FEA and and Design by Rule using hand calculation), I should think that the 2 independent methods of design verification would be acceptable for qualification of the supports per ASME Section III requirements.
