Design on locking system for golf shoe spike

We are undergraduate students on a project for designing locking mechanism for golf shoe spike (in order to secure/inserted golf shoe spike onto the shoe sole)
Is there any books or web sites on locking mechanism design?
In addition, is there any method, such as ASTM method to test and evaluate gplf shoe spike?
