Design Table Issue

Two quick questions.
1) When I open the design table in a new view it looks good for a few seconds while it's loading but then the columns automatically shrink and I have to constantly select all cells to resize them. Is there a way to make sure the column widths stay and not automatically shrink after the DT finish's loading?

2) Is there a reason I can't link the highlighted cells? I'm able to link the $PRP@Description to the $DESCRIPTION but as you can see below it doesn't work the other way around. Not sure what I'm missing.

In both cases I know there's a solution but I haven't been able to figure out what's different in this DT vs. some of the other DT's that don't experience the same issue.

I usually turn off the linking between the part and the DT once I have all the automatic info that I want from the part. That does not mean I still will not be adding info in manually. See if that helps. I know whe i turn the linking back on i lose a lot of my data validation lists and several other items I have setup in my tables.

Also if you are using any macros or VBA in your DT, it is not supported in the standard design table that is made when you start a new DT. To do that you have to have made and saved a simple Excel macro-enabled table. Then you must add it as a new DT file. Might check if you have any special items in your Excel DT. Also there are some settings in excel you must have setup to use macros\VBA as well. you do a google search and find those settings.

I Google searched it:
How do you autofill the width of a column?

Below are the steps to do this:
1) Select the column you need to autofit.
2) Click the Home tab.
3) In the Cells group, click on the 'Format' option. This will show additional options in the drop-down.
4) Click on the 'Autofit Column Width' option.
