Design Tables in Assemblies

I have design tables made for individual subs and parts. The tables work great when I am looking at just the individual parts.
But when I want to change the dimension in these tables, I have to find the part in my FeatureManager -> Open Part -> Config -> Edit Design Table
Then of course I can't see how it looks until I load up my main assembly again.

Is there a way to edit the design table located in a sub-assembly without having to leave my main assembly?

What I was told many years ago, you could not change a part dimension in an assembly DT. That may not be entirely true anymore, but I have not a way to change a DT from an Assembly DT.

A Few years ago I made a couple of examples of how to use a DT to control an assembly, without being directly link to the assembly (attached is that example).

To use these you have to make sure you have Macros enabled in your version MSOffice.

I hope you find an answer to you question, but I don't think that is possible, the way you describe it.

Hmm... That design table is adjusting the design table in the top level assembly.

I am attaching a simplified version of my problem with my actual part, and subbed in some dummy parts.

The design table is located inside of "silo chute.prt" and you can see how it changes the angle on chute. I needed to modify this angle to get the tips of the augers as close as possible.

Let me know if the assembly works (I think there are some external refs to the actual assembly, but it should still work)

You have a DT in the Silo part. You can change the dimensions in the DT or if you have the option turned on that allows you to change the dimension in the graphics area you can do that. But you can't add a DT in the assembly to control the Silo dimension. You can however make a DT at the assembly to use the COnfigurations you already made in the parts. So you can have multiple configs at the assembly showing two Right or two left, or one right and one left... other than that I am not sure what you want to do at the assembly level with your Silo part.
