Designing a Wall with Piers

Hi Guys

I have a 10m long wall with a height of 5m and piers spaced 4m apart. My question is, when designing the wall, should it be designed for the full length of 10m or should each panel be designed separately, assuming a 4m panel with fixed boundary conditions on both sides and pinned from the top and bottom?

I would like to hear your thoughts and experiences on this topic. Your insights would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on how it is built with the pilasters and if continuity can be assumed, and how it is built at the top and btm. This document may be of some help showing the effect of different boundary possibilities. But I wouldn't design for the full 10m length in your case just ignoring the pilasters because they will take more load one way or another and should be looked at.

You design it based on the load path. Is this a cantilevered wall?
