Hello all,

I need to calculate the impact forces (horizontal and vertical) of a top running double girder crane system. Are there any good references online that I can read or follow? Anything in particular that I should keep in mind? All help is much appreciated.

Regards,

Clansman

The AISC design guide on industrial buildings is a free download for AISC members and is a good place to start.

I follow the NBCC, but after reading your post I thought I would check the official website of the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction, really didn't think I'd find anything but lo and behold:
An excellent book on crane design for Canadian engineers and completely free for anyone. Thought I'd post it here in case anyone else needed some bed time reading on cranes.
