detail view from section view

I've made a section view of a part, then try to make a detail view of part of the section view, to scale up an area. The detail view is created, and shows the name & scale, but no geometry. I've had this problem before, and solved it but dont remember how. Please help!

never mind-I figured it out, I didnt activate the section view before making the detail view....duh!
