We have an assembly drawing where there is a metal tube (gear shifter) and one or two other components. When we added a view to the drawing sheet, we had to turn shilouette curves on in order to see the outline of the tube, however when we added a detail view, once again, lines were missing from the tube. However if edited the detail view to make it an indpendent detail view, the lines in the detail view became visible again. I have attached an image to this post. I've tried all sorts of things but to no avail. Any ideas?

Many thanks

Simon

Any difference if you tighten the detail view's tolerance (make it smaller) under Edit -> Style -> <select view> -> General tab?

I've ran into situations where for one reason or another I've had to go tighter than 0.025mm.

Got View Style of the view - Hidden Lines - Interfering Solids - in your case the tab None is checked, try changing it to Yes, Without Interference Curves or Yes, With Interfering Curves.

Try run Analysis -Examine Geometry.
Also pick a single face and do Information - Object and check if the surface normal point outwards. I have seen a few very-very rare cases where the surface normals were reversed. ( on imported geometry) Then all kinds of strange behaviour starts happening.

If the geometry is imported, run File - export -heal Geometry.
