Had a user adding a detail view in drafting. In the view selected to create the detail from, you can see all the lines showing. When the detail is placed on the drawing, what would be silhouette lines are not showing. Now one thing I see different in nx7.5, the detail views are a level below the view used to create the detail. Now if you make the detail view an independant view, the the view shows correctly. Is there something I can change so detail views don't get burried under the main view?

What's being created are views which are more 'Associative' than what you might have see prior to NX 7.5, including that if you change the display settings such as Hidden Line Removal, etc.

These new behaviors were described in the NX 7.5 'What's New Guide', unfortunately you may have missed it since they were put in the wrong place. To see a description of the new Detailed View behavior, in the 'What's New Guide' go to...

2D Drafting with DraftingPlus -> Detail View enhancement

Now, despite the fact that this item was documented in the Drafting Plus section of the 'What's New Guide' it's an Enhancement of the traditional Drafting module and does NOT require a DraftingPlus license.

As for how to disable this behavior, if you go to...

Customer Defaults -> Drafting -> Extras -> Detail

...you will find an option that if you toggle ON, will return the Detail View creation behavior back to what it was prior to NX 7.5.

I did also send this in to GTAC. It has gone to a PR now since the curves should be showing in the detail view whether it is independent or not. The only way to get the curves to show was make it independent.

I can't speak to what sounds like a problem with the display. My response was just trying to provide some background as well letting you know where you find more information about the changes made in NX 7.5 as well as answer your question about how to disable the default behavior of creating 'dependent' views.
