Detail weight of an assembly on a drawing

I beleive that the attribute <w@?mass> (which is what we use on our drawing borders to show weight)calculates the mass based on the solid reference set, however if people have created custom reference sets, how will the mass be calculated for thoses parts to ensure that the assembly weight will be correct?

It seems to me like you will need "advanced assemblies" to accomplish what you need to here.
