When I do a deep hole test I need to determine what type of soil(s) are present. Does anyone know a website that shows/describes the different types of soils (silt, sand, clay, gravel, etc). Thanks.

If you do a search in this website you will come across threads that discuss this subject. Different classification systems have been discussed (USCS, AASHTO, etc) including the Burmeister classification system, a system folks who drill test borings are very familiar with. I posted a link to one.

Having a sound comprehension of soil classification is essential in "soil testing engineering".
