I am currently just in the beginning thought process of this, but I wanted to see if anyone had some experience. I have a site where we plan on excavating to a depth of 6 feet (10 feet in localized areas) and there is the chance of groundwater/rainwater infiltration. The excavation is being done to remove MGP structures and material. My question is what types of methods are available to treat the water prior to discharge. I am leaning towards GAC but I wanted to see if there were other options that may be better suited for the situation. We will need to get the discharge quality to around 1 ppm (or as low as possible to remain cost effective) so I would also be interested in the removal rates and the breakthrough time using carbon.
