Here is one type of auxillary pump (Hydraflow) the COE is getting to assist in dewatering of NO.
Check out the pdf as they have capacities up to 120,000 GPM. With no problems with NPSH.

Wow that is interesting! What is the minimum submergence required & what is the recommended intake arrangement? Is a rire mesh box recommended at intake, What would be the recommended mesh size, wire gauge & intake box dimensions expresed as factors of the pump intake diameter?

If you go back to this web page and download what material you need to give you a general idea of what the pumps can do. I would imagine that you will have to have an inquiry to the company about a specific application. You will find in the literature that the pumps are very versatile and requiring only imagination for any use.

There was short piece on the news that showed one of the larger Wood's pumps running. It was definately a 25 cycle looking at the motor and RPM of the shaft. The most interesting aspect was they showed a very old shinny brass gauge that was registering 20 something at the time. Whether this was 20 PSI or 20 in Hg they didn't say.

In a later show they said that to build another 14' pump it would take 3 yrs and 1 year to install it.

Could it have been 20 ft. H20? I wouldn't think those monsters would have much more head than that.
