Dear All,

I am working on energy, oil&gas industry and we are manufacturing Piping Spool.

We perform DFT measurements according to ISO 19840 and SSPC PA 2, but it's not possible to measure every single where on pipe/spool etc. Instead, we take measurements randomly selected points in accordance with the related standards . According to standards our measurements are comply the requirements. However, another inspector third party or Notified Body might take measurement different points and could find the coating non-compliant. In this situation how i should proceed? Can other inspectors eject the coating?

Thanks for advise.

Yes, the coating can be rejected if it fails to meet the standard.

If you can identify areas where the coating is more likely to have insufficient thickness you should target those areas in your testing. You're not doing yourself a favor if you tailor your inspection procedure to pass the part instead of finding defects.
