In previous versions of cad to obtain engineering diameter symbol I just had to type %%. Just moved over to 2004 and it doesn't work.I am using Architectural and in the symbol selection in the tolerance tag the required symbol is not there.Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

ADT2004, Arial: %%c
or (for DORU [wink]) alt+ 0216

Lothar

Unicode is

\U+2205

This is not a key combination just type what is shown above.

As stated above %%d before the value when you are in text,dtext or mtext; alternate method is when in dtext or mtext,right click in the text box, select symbols, and character map will show, select greek font, pick the phi symbol, copy to clipboard, go back to the text box, right again, select paste(from clipboard) and symbol will show up in the text box, then type value and ok it.

Ø = alt + 0216
° = alt + 0176
± = alt + 241

These all work for me when I'm in any text editor in AutoCAD. Just like everything else in CAD, there's more than one way to get what you want.
