Does anyone who took this exam this year have any opinions? If so, I would like your thoughts. Overall, I felt okay about it, although there were several terms on the exam that I felt were fairly arcane. There also seemed to be a good number of problems that had a lot of extra given information not necessary to the solution.

I did feel that the Sample Exam by W.J. Kennedy did give a fairly good feel for the difficulty of the actual exam, even if the types of problems were different.

I was glad that they let us use the HPs one more time - the equation solver came in handy quite a few times. Anyone else have an opinion? Also, if you have taken the IE Exam in the past, I would like to hear about your experiences...

I took it this year as well. I agree that the Kennedy sample exam is pretty good; I also used the study guide published by IIE. The one thing I definitely picked up from the practice exam was that a lot of extra information would be included as "distractors" to catch someone using the wrong formula.

I thought the test was okay; some questions were definitely arcane or completely unrelated to IE in a practical sense. And there were two questions where the answers were incorrect. One was missing the decimal point, and the other had line operations in reverse order.

Overall, I'd say it was okay. I just hope I don't have to take it again :)
