Currently we face one tough issue which is our hypochlorite storage Tank Fabrication Standard.Vendor propose ASTM D3299 as per their experience* client require RTP-1* cost difference between both is huge.We request vendor to give explanation how come the difference* vendor clarify as below:
o ASME RTP-1 demands to have a laminate where the axial and radial mechanical characteristics are similar. To do that* on the composition of laminate* one part can be done by filament winding machine but it is necessary to do another part by hand lay-up layers.
o The lengths of junction knuckles and nozzles reinforcements are longer on ASME RTP-1
o Additionally the ASME RTP-1 require that a Professional Engineer certificate must be issued
Is there any expert in this regard can clarify more?specially for the 1st item*where this requirement come from?Is there any way to balance the 2 standard?Or please propose good suggestion.
