Difference between orange peel and ripple finish?

Hi,

Can someone please explain if there is any difference between orange peel effect and ripple effect? My understanding was that they call it differently in different countries? Am I right? Here in Australia I have heard about ripple finish powder coating but never really heard anything about orange peel finish?

Can someone clarify or verify?

This may be a bit trite, but understand where its coming from .

If you don't want a rippled finish, the problem is called orange peel in your your smooth finish paint.
If you want a dimpled finish, but the paint failed to provide the surface you wanted, it's a problem with the ripple finish paint.
