Hi friends!

Can you help me to clear my doubt? What is the difference between Bitumen/Heacy oil/Petroleum/crud oil & tar sand?

According to me,
1) Bitumen (extra heavy oil) found in tar sand(oil sand) deposits.

2) Bitumen: API gravity<= 10
Viscosity > 10,000 cP
Heavy Oil: API gravity <= 20
Viscosity < 10,000 cP

Where is petroleum and crude oil in this category?
Bitumen is found in petroleum or in tar sand?

Any comment is appreciated!
regards,

There is a wide range of crude density. Crudes from Venezuela are nearly like asphault, Mayan crude from Mexico is heavy. The ultralight crude from the Hawtah field in Saudi Arabia is like refined product.
