Hello hashim6726,

Thank you for your posting. I am having some difficulty in understanding exactly what is is on which you are asking for an opinion.

ASME B16.9 is a Standard for the manufacture of welding fittings and ASME B36.10 is a Standard for the manufacture of pipe. You will need to specify the materials, diameters and schedules for both.

Regards, John

ASME B16.9 is the standard which covers "Factory Made Wrought Butweld Fittings" whereas ASME B36.10M covers "Welded and Seamless Wrought Steel Pipe".

Pipe is 36.10M where elbows would be B16.9. In B31.3 you would simply have to ensure that the fittings allowable stress and schedule match that of the pipe. You can then say that the pressure rating is acceptable (in the case of B31.3) per paragraph 302.2.2.

Regards,
EJL
