Is it possible to insert multiple instances of a part into an assembly and give each one a different configuration? Right now, when I change the configuration of 1 part it changes the rest of them.

Insert two instance of same part. Then right click on the part and select the appropriate configuration.

Do you have a part pattern in the assembly.

Wow, it's working now! I have no idea why it wouldn't work before. I didn't have a part pattern.

I seem to recall that you can change individual instance configurations within a pattern? True or not?

Yes you can but if try to change the parent part, all pattern instance will update/change.

Thanks; that is much as it should be, eh?
So if you want to change the parent config, go ahead, then you have to change all your child part configs.
