Different Label parts

Hi,

I work in Aerospace industry and I am trying to understand what does this mean?

Blue label parts,

Red label parts,

Black label parts. I know some can only be used in r&d, another one for production. But can someone please give me better explanations on how to distinguish and what they are for?

i'd interpret "red label" as being flight test only (ie not certified)
and "black label" as being production parts.

the only time i've heard red, blue, and black labels together is in describing a famous of scotch (johnnie Walker) ??

What rb1957 said about red label and black label is my experience too. Perhaps blue label is a local distinction, or something I just never encountered...

rb1957 - by flight test only (not certified), do you mean R&D parts ?

If not I think blue label means R&D parts, as I was once told that anything from R&D cannot go airborne. Whereas flight test sounds a bit different. (sounds as if it can go airborne)
