I think the best approach is to model both slabs and the beam on their own centerlines, then link things together periodically with some vertical stub columns.
You can sometimes use rigid offsets for such a thing, but with stub columns linking thing together you can actually report forces in those elements and see additional deflection from those members that would not happen with rigid links.
