Evening all,

hopefully somebody can help me, this is totally new so struggling, from a paper I have found that NB diffusion coefficient is Ds= 1.0 (+0.87, -0.48) x10^-6 exp (-202.59 (+/- 4.71KJ)mol/RT)m2/s and I want the NB to diffuse 54μm within the nickel.

How do I work out the time required?, do I need the temperature first?, if so how do I work out the time required from that?

kind regards
JB

Yes you need a temp.
When you plug that in you get a rate, then divide your depth by that rate and you get a time.
And triple check the units.

thanks you for your reply,

would you be able to give me this figure in cm2/s
Ds= 1.0 (+0.87, -0.48) x10^-6 exp (-202.59 (+/- 4.71KJ)mol/RT)m2/s

Can this results be put in excel? having never put something this long I have no idea if you can.

kind regards
James
