I am using an RJ-3iB controller for a Fanuc lrmate 200iB and I am configuring some inputs to be controlled from a remote panel with a start and reset button. When the door to the robot cage is close, I have it turning UI[1] IMSTP on but when it is on and I press the start or reset button, they latch on.I have to turn IMSTP off in order to turn the others off. What could be causing this and how can I prevent it?

You could be seeing electrical noise from external connections. I have seen micro lightning is a green house start a control system. My volt ohm meter would read 6 volts in free air about 6” apart. In machine tools having AC wires parallel with DC control wires can cause problems. Sometimes ferrite beads need to be installed over shielded wires coming into control areas to limit noise.
