Hi,
I need help in setting up a dim for various configuration.

I have 2 configs in a part.

config1 : As you can see in the attached file, the dim 2.25 is to the left side of the origin.

Its important for this dim to be starting from the origin.

Config 2: I need this value to be 0.

My problem is, often, when switch between config1 & config2, the dim 2.25 shift from left side of the origin to right side. I dont want this dim to shift to the rigthside.

As I told, its important to tie this model to the origin.

Thx

CADone,

Perhaps you need to tie the feature to your origin on your drawing. I do not think there is a robust way to tie it on your model.

Insert a design table. Run your dimensions from an edge. Enter your required dimensions from the origin onto your design table. Add the distance from the edge to your origin. Use reference dimensions on your drawing.

The design table makes it easier to control the BOM entry on whatever assembly you are attaching this thing to.

I wish I could tie the feature to the origin even in the model. The reason is that I need to create a single rectangular pattern feature to have extrude on both sides of origin.

like :

[E] [E] [E] [E] [E] C/L [E] [E] [E] [E] [E]
