Just put in for the text "@D" (no quotes) I believe. It's been 3 years since I've run Pro/E but I think that's it.

nope...doesn't allow @D in name..properties...drawing or model

if you know what it was before ...say d15 and change it to that then it works....but unless you have that ..then it's a new name

i was wondering if there was something one could do with jlink to return the original name

Select the feature...select edit. Select the dimension to rename...right click...select properties.

Click on the dimension text tab...then rename the dimension.

Exit the sketch and select Info...switch dimension.

If you need to remember the original dimension ref' then why not just put it in as a prefix or suffix?

I plan on using files from other people too ..so having it in the relations file or prefixing in name, not really an option..jlink may be my answer..is there a list of commands somewhere?

3dlogix.....have you got the wf ver of config mentor out?
it rules ;-)

Usually you can tell what dim id "d##" that a renamed dimension used to be by looking at the dimensions in the feature and hitting switch dims. It would be nice to see the Pro/E relations ui with an alphabetical list of all the model dimensions or to do away with or show the model dimensions they are attached to there are many sd0s but only one d## in a model. It would also be cool to see an auto dimension rename option which would rename the dimensions from first to last feature of the model so no one will ever have to see a d100000 in a model.

If you temporarily add the dimensions to a family table, it shows the original name and the new name for the dimensions.

Yes, John...seems that's the only way to find out what it was....make a table.

not sure if there is any jlink commands to find it and after looking at some java... well :-(
