OK I have been using autocad since V10 but I have stepped away for a couple of years to do web development I am now back doing cad work. I finally broke down and bought my own version of acad 2007 (ouch 4k) in the passed I let my boss pick up the tab.
My question is that I am trying to set up pgp file to have the shortcuts that I like one is the distance command I assign that to "D" well the pesky dimstyle command has taken over the "D" and I cant stop it for some reason. I reasigned dimstyle to DS in my pgp file but it just wont release I shut autocad down tried reinit and even rebooted the computer but still dimstyle is associated to th "D" I have looked inside the CUI and I dont see where dimstyle has the D associated to it I just cant figure out.

Does anyone have any ideas
Thanks

It should work, but do you have the Express Tools loaded? If so, begin the Alias Editor. I edit it there and it works fine. ALso make sure you are looking at the PGP that AutoCAD is looking at. Mine is under Documents and Settings....

To find the pgp file that acad is using, type (findfile "acad.pgp") at the command line. This is the pgp you should edit. It is also the file that "Aliasedit" revises. Also make sure you delete (or reassign)the line that assigns D to Dimstyle. It might be being read first.

I had the correct PGP that was what was killing me I had already made several other changes; however Coming from AC2K I had not heard of the Alias Editor and That did the trick.
