I am creating an assembly, where I have recently included a shoulder bolt from McMaster into the overall assembly. The component of the bolt shows numerous dimension details in various colors that I cannot possibly hide by simply clicking on them and hiding them. Does anyone know how to get rid of these details in order to clean up the look of the assembly? It also is slowing down my computer a good amount when trying to move the component around.

Go to View and turn off All Annotations or Dimensions Names.

Whenever I use a part from another source I always open the part, get appearances right, delete unwanted features, and generally fix issues before I insert it into any assy's. Give that a shot. You can also go to the view tab and select Hide All Types.

Many Mcmaster parts are full featured when you import them as sldprt files. You have to hide planes, dimensions, and sketches to use them properly. I import as step files where possible. Now, how to save and name them is another matter . . .
