Hi,

Does anyone know how to make a linear 'dimension shown not to scale' which is shortened but still associative to the actual, longer value?

Apparently this is simple in SolidWorks but I've never done it.

Similar to the Folded Radius dimension...

Thanks,
Sean

Sean,
Do you mean something like this?

Created from "Broken Views" and a Symbol (User-defined, Utility Directory, Break15) added to the dimension line.

Just a heads up gbangs,

I'm running NX 10 now and I stumbled upon another way to do this (I wasn't able to find the old way actually).

Double click 'any' dimension -> right click the handle at the end of the dimension arrow (whichever side you want to shorten) -> then click "Add Foreshortening Symbol."

Cheers,
Sean

Sounds like a nice enhancement! Look forward to running the latest version someday!
I appreciate your info - should come in handy. Thank you.
