I have a feeling my solution is in a SYSTEM OPTION setting somewhere buried deep within... but I can't find it. When I dimension, after my first click, the dimension text will preview (stuck to my cursor). Often the text obscures the 2nd thing I want to click on. Is there a solution to this?

When you hover over a line or arc on the second click, you will see an icon appear that you are ready to select something behind the cursor.
No setting to turn that off (that I know of).
This is a first for me to hear from someone with this issue.
Unless I'm misunderstanding you.
Maybe a screenshot?

Some one in the SW forum said by them changing the option "display dimensions flat to screen" worked for him. I used that option as well, but I am not entirely sure that is the answer, but its worth a try.

TateJ,
If it's a model you are dimensioning (not a drawing), go to:
Tools/Options/Document properties/Detailing/select "Always display text at the same size".
See if this helps.
