Hi!

I would like to know if it is correct to indicate ANSI B18.2.1 as a dimensional specification for ASTM A193 B7 bolts and ASTM A194 2H nuts or I should indicate ANSI B16.5.

Sorry if I made any mistakes this is my first post.

Thank you in advance!

The bolts will be made to ASTM B18.2.1 as stated in section 11.2 of ASTM A193, however, you will need to consult B16.5 to determine the length and diameter of the bolts you will need to fit your class of flange.

Thk you Gorpomon I understand what you mean, I already have my list of bolts with diameter x length but my question is if it is correct to indicate in my specifications for purchasing as a dimensional standard the ANSI B18.2.1

Yes, an appropriate purchase order would specify that as well. This is also important if you want them in metric (B18.2.3.1m). Read 11.1 and 11.2 in A193 as it discusses ordering them properly.

You might also want to check B16.5 §6.10 and table 1C.
