Hello all,

I have a metallic material and I would like to find out the "dimensional wear cooefficient" of the material in the units mm^3/Nmm.

Does anyone know if and how this is possible?

Thank-you.

The unit seems reasonable but its going to have many different factors in its calculation. Do you have an example where its referenced?

Thanks for your feedback cloa,

Here are some references:

I agree, the variations will be massive I was thinking that this could be achieved by using a pin on disk testing machine, but the variations would be huge and dependant on a number of factors as you say.

Thanks again, your input is much appreciated. I think this is a really important topic for engineers.
