Dimensions not plan readable..

I am dimensioning my site plan in model space and I have paper space set up with a rotated view so as to fit the site on my title block. The problem is that when I rotate the view (command: DV -> TWist) the dimensions are not plan readable. Instead, the dimensions stay readable to the North and not to the new rotation of the viewport. Anybody have any ideas on this? I've tried changing the orientation in "drawing setup" as well as messing with the UCS, but it doesn't seem to matter. I'm using Civil 3D Land Desktop Companion 2009. Thanks in advance.

No, I typically do not have them annotative. I just switched them to annotative to see if that would work and it did not.

Only way we've found around this, is to set the ucs in model space, to match what you're going to have in the rotated view, and then put the dimensions in.

Only problem with that, is if you also have a view rotated the other way, they still show upside down. So multiple layers for dims, rotated at different ucs angles, for readable dims in the different views. Doesn't happen often, so we've never looked to see if there was another way around it. For as often as we have it, this works just fine)

Thanks everyone for the ideas. Depending on the rotation, I will probably go with the rotated UCS as I seldom have two rotations in one drawing. The lisp routine will also help on my latest project as there are only a few dimensions that I need to rotate and I hate exploding them, especially when the dimensions are always changing...

Setting the UCS to VIEW makes dimensioning horizontal:

Command: ucs
Current ucs name: *WORLD*
Specify origin of UCS or [Face/NAmed/OBject/Previous/View/World/X/Y/Z/ZAxis]
<World>: v
