Direction of pull 2

Can someone give me a plain language explanation of how you determine direction of pull? I do not understand how the draft angle is suppose to work and which direction it needs to taper in.

Recommended for you

Get two red keg cups and put them together. The outer one is your mold, the inner your part. Pull them apart. See how the taper works so that they don't get stuck together? Same basic principle. You want the taper of your mold such that the part can be removed without material interfering.

That was CLASSIC! Perfect explanation, although I think you must be American, as I can only presume what a 'keg cup' is: in any American film with a party scene you all have the red plastic cups, right? I think there's a niche in a market somewhere as we don't have them in the UK!
