I just switched to 2008 and i have noticed that everytime that i shutdown solidworks the tool bars will either disappear or be rearanged the next time i start it up. I don't remember this happening in 2007. Is there a setting that i am missing to lock the tool bars in place. I also had all of the tool bars being shown in the same place if it was a part, assembly or drawing.

Yes, I'm running the 64 bit version with Sp3.1

Everyone here is having the same problem.

Use SolidWorks BOM

If it's a glitch or bug a temporary workaround would be to use the Copy Settings Wizard to allow quickly resetting the toolbars after starting SW.

CorBlimeyLimey,
Are you not having this problem?

No, but I'm using an x32 system. Toolbars, for me, have been rock solid stable since SP0.

Bradley,

I am using x64 SP 3.0 and I haven't seen the problem you are talking about. My toolbars have stayed exactly where I've put them since day 1.

This is a known issue. Many users have been addressing this since '07. Just do a search for toolbars on any of the fora (forums?), and you will find us complaining about it. It was supposed to be addressed in SP3.1, but it seems to be still happening for some. Apparently, SW doesn't care about issues that are only mildly annoying and counterproductive. Issues have to push you to the point of spitting your coffee all over your monitor and randomly beating your nerdy cube-mate before they are actually assessed.

With the new UI I have been able to negate this issue personally by ditching toolbars all together and using hotkeys in conjuction with the shortcut bar and context menus. I haven't missed them one bit.
