Disconnecting SOG from Shear Walls

Hi, I have an ETABS model where the shear walls extend past the slab on grade to bear directly on the caissons below. However, there is a problem where the gravity loads carried by the shear walls are being transferred into the SOG and causing unduly high stresses in the slab. Is there any way to disconnect the SOG from the shear walls for vertical load transfer, yet keep a bearing connection (for transfer of lateral soil load through the slab and into the walls)? The only thing I can think of is an opening with a link element (0 vertical stiffness, very high lateral stiffness), but I am pretty new to ETABS and don't know how link elements are handled. Any help would be appreciated.
