Does anyone have any experience with this concept?

With displacement ventilation, warm contaminants rise to the ceiling, the contaminated air is extracted, and fresh, cool air is supplied at floor level.

"The indoor air quality is better if the contaminant sources are associated with the heat sources, such as computers, people and equipment

Have you checked out the various Trox sites? Trox USA is not yet up and running but has some stuff. I believe Trox did most of the pioneering work on displacement stuff. Have you looked for any ASHRAE articles?

Displacement ventilation can be used as a means of obtaining better air quality in the occupational space of offices and other premises where people congregate. The idea behind displacement ventilation, is to utilise buoyancy to remove warm, contaminated air from the occupational space by supplying fresh air with low velocity at floor level, and extracting the contaminated air at the ceiling.
