HI

If displacer level transmitter fails, Can it be replaced with other type of level transmitter or it has to be transmitter of displacer type/sensor? if yes, what are possible options?

Thank you

I'd suggest two reads:

Rosemount's Guided Wave Radar tech note asks what kind of measurement: level, interface or density, because you don't say and it makes a big difference. The note also clearly spells out the need for minimum dielectric values of the medium and for interface, differences in dielectric (and mentions the issue with emulsion layers, which is commendable)

Magnetrol's article is not as detailed, but they have replaced a lot of their own bouyancy-displacers over the years with radar. Worth considering.
