display colours

When I open solid works, the screen background is black and I cannot change it. Is the problem related to the video card or screen driver or what. Just remeber, you are what you are

What video are you using?

I would say thats probably your problem, but with out knowing what card its hard to say.

Scott is assuming that you've tried DOCUMENT PROPERTIES -> COLOR -> VIEWPOINT BACKGROUND -> EDIT...

Also check your video card at:
www.solidworks.com/swdocs/support/html/videoissues/videotest.cfm
And the usual: make sure you're using all the latest drivers blah blah blah...
