is this possible? Id'e like to point a couple of dwg format feilds to one location that I can globally change.

Ex:

REV -
Job#:
Release Date:

Etc...

Would make managment of large projects a lot easier.

TIA

There are Expression functions which can read the cells of a Spreadsheet and this information can be assigned either directly to a Note on a Drawing or to an Attribute, which a note can also be linked to. The only issue is that if a change is made to the spreadsheet, you have to force a manual update (which you can do with the selection of a single command) of the file so that the external data gets read. In other words, it's a 'pull' situation, NOT a 'push'.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Well put... I could live with that if there were a way to open a batch of seperate detail files and...

1. Execute the "pull"
2. Save
3. Print

I used to do this with AutoCad. They had an external utility that could run a "script" of commands on a list of files you selected.

How about that one?????
