What I would like to do is have a table in my assembly drawing that shows the mass properties of each subassembly and part in the assembly.

Is there anyway to do this so that it updates with changes to the model?

Right now I am basically just cutting and pasting from the Analysis/Model/Mass Properties menu option.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

There is a parameter in pro/E for the reported mass properties (in Wildfire 2.0 it's PRO_MP_MASS) ans a seconf one for the alternate mass properties (ALT_PRO_MP_MASS)when you manually set the density.

Thanks rober,

I feel stupid now that I realize how easy that was... but the help says to create a parameter and then use a relation to set the mass/volume/etc equal to the parameter that you created.

Does this approach work as well? I couldn't get anything following the help file.

I think that PTC haven't properly updated their help manuals - from what little I've seen on posts, pre-wildfire didn't have the parameters (or at least not visibly).

The relation idea also works, but it's a lot easier to use the built-in parameters. If you look at the new parameter UI (I think it's the default for Wildfire 2.0) there is a drop-down box (default is Main), where you can view the built-in parameters.

Thanks again robertib,

and yeah, there's a whole list of reported/alternate parameters. I just didn't know they were there.

Think I'll abandon what the help file was telling me to do...
